Tips – How to Solve the Problems in Normal Lathe

The metal lathe is a common mechanical production and processing equipment in production. It has superior performance, high precision, high rate and high adaptability, but it also has some problems.
In the course of use, if the fault is not eliminated in time, the production will be directly affected, and the accuracy and service life of the lathe will be reduced. Therefore, it is very important to diagnose and repair the lathe. We found that the main causes of lathe failure are mechanical corrosion, mechanical wear failure, aging of electronic components, poor plug-in contact, current and voltage fluctuations, temperature changes, hidden dangers of the machine itself or dust. Lathe and CNC lathe are our main product, in order to improve the efficiency of the lathe, we carefully analyze and summarize the cause of the failure, so as to do the maintenance of benchtop metal lathe.
The cause of the failure of the lathe:
The manifestations of faults are diverse, and the causes are often combined by many factors. The common faults in the use of ordinary lathes can be divided into two categories: the lathe itself is not working properly and the lathe machining workpiece is defective.
(1) Quality problems of parts: The mechanical parts and electrical components of the lathe itself are out of work due to their own quality reasons, or some parts are seriously worn, and the precision is too bad or even damaged.
(2) Poor installation and assembly accuracy: lathe installation and assembly mainly involve slippery scraping, bed assembly, slide box, feed box and spindle box installation, etc. Any error in any part may reduce the accuracy of the lathe. .
(3) Improper daily maintenance and maintenance: the quality of lathe maintenance and maintenance can directly affect the processing quality and production efficiency of the workpiece. The main content of maintenance is cleaning, lubrication and necessary adjustments. Maintenance is the daily work necessary to keep the lathe in good condition, prolong the service life and improve production efficiency.
(4) Unreasonable use: Different lathes have different technical parameters, reflecting their different processing ranges and processing capabilities. If the operating range of the lathe and the operating procedures of this type of work are not strictly controlled during use, the reasonable use of the lathe cannot be guaranteed.
How to solve these problems in mini metal lathe:
Bearing fault:
The drive shaft is the core component of the lathe for machining. It carries the main load during operation and is therefore one of the most prone to failure lathe parts. If parts such as one-way thrust ball bearings on the lathe spindle are damaged, the machine tool user can accurately diagnose and replace it quickly. If the drive shaft breaks, the machine tool user can generally solve the problem by changing the diameter of the drive, improving its internal structure, and re-arranging the gears for different speeds of the on-site machine.
Spindle heating causes failure:
On a lathe, the main shaft is generally assembled with a rolling bearing or a sliding bearing and rotates at a high rotational speed, thereby generating a large amount of heat. The main shaft bearing is the main heat source in the headstock. If the heat generated by it is not discharged in time, the bearing will overheat and the temperature of the corresponding part of the lathe will rise, resulting in thermal deformation. In severe cases, the main shaft and the tailstock will not be equal. This not only affects the accuracy and machining accuracy of the lathe itself, but also burns the bearings and even the main shaft. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the clearance of the spindle bearing to make it suitable; the supply of lubricating oil should be controlled to clear the oil passage; try to avoid the long-term load on the lathe.
Mechanical oil leak:
Oil leakage is also one of the lathe failures that often occur in daily work. It not only wastes fuel, causes direct economic loss, but also affects the working performance of the lathe. At the same time, long-term leakage will have adverse consequences for the installation of the lathe, and even affect the future work. This kind of problem should be dealt with as soon as possible to avoid serious consequences.
