Do you know the reason for the abnormal sound of the main shaft belt of the horizontal machining center?

Horizontal machining center refers to the machining center with the spindle axis parallel to the workbench. And is mainly suitable for machining box-type parts. Its working principle is that after the workpiece is clamped once on the machining center, the computer can automatically select different tools, automatically change the spindle speed of the machine tool, and complete the processing of multiple processes on multiple surfaces of the workpiece in sequence.

When we are using it, sometimes the main shaft belt will make abnormal noise. What is the reason for this?

1.The belt connecting the spindle to the servo motor is damaged

The spindle belt of the machining center wears over time, leading to abnormal noise. Generally, we will ask the spindle manufacturer to choose a matching brand of high-quality spindle belt.

2.The abnormal sound caused by the tooth profile of the transmission belt does not match the tooth profile of the servo motor and the main shaft

This kind of problem will not appear in the initial assembly of the machining center manufacturer. In many cases, the customer matches the belt with a tooth profile that does not match the tooth profile of the servo motor and the main shaft when replacing it, which will cause abnormal noise during use.

We generally suggest that when the spindle belt of the machining center has abnormal noise, the user can contact our after-sales technical contact in time to choose a suitable belt to avoid the abnormal noise caused by this situation.

3.Abnormal noise caused by excessive tension of the main shaft belt

During the initial assembly, the tension of the belt connecting the main shaft to the servo motor should not be too tight. If it is too tight, it is easy to accelerate the wear of the belt. In this case, abnormal noise will also occur.

4.Too low tension of the main shaft belt can also cause abnormal noise

The tension of the belt connecting the main shaft to the servo motor should not be too low. If the tension is too low, the belt connection is too loose. In this case, the heavy cutting process will easily cause the belt to slip and make abnormal noise.
