Machining is divided into manual processing and CNC processing. Today, with the implementation of intelligent manufacturing, CNC machine tools are increasingly replacing traditional machine tools and becoming necessary equipment for mechanical processing. So, which mechanical workpieces are suitable for machining with CNC machine tools?CNC machining can be roughly divided into three categories: turning, milling and drilling. For each category of workpiece material, its requirements for machining conditions should be considered before processing it by CNC machine tools. In turn, according to the different characteristics of the material used for machining parts during production (such as hardness), we have different requirements for their machining conditions. 01Multi-variety, mass-produced workpieces

Many machined workpieces have the characteristics of non-standardization, customization, and batch production, and there are many varieties, so they are suitable for production with CNC machine tools. For the processing of small batches and single-piece production, with the gradual decline in the manufacturing cost of CNC machine tools, it is also suitable to use if the adjustment time of the program and the preparation time of the tooling can be shortened.

02Workpieces with high precision requirements

Due to the good rigidity of CNC machine tools, high manufacturing precision, accurate tool setting, and convenient size compensation, it is suitable for processing parts with high dimensional accuracy requirements.

03 Workpieces with small surface roughness

When the material of the workpiece and the tool, the finishing allowance and the angle of the tool are fixed, the surface roughness depends on the cutting speed and feed rate. Ordinary machine tools have a constant speed, and different diameters have different cutting speeds. CNC machine tools have the function of constant linear speed cutting, and the same linear speed can be used when turning end faces and outer circles with different diameters to ensure that the surface roughness value is small and consistent. When processing surfaces with different surface roughness, a small feed rate is selected for a surface with a small roughness, and a larger feed rate is selected for a surface with a large roughness. The variability is very good, which is difficult to achieve on ordinary machine tools.

04Workpieces with complex contours and shapes

Any plane curve can be approximated by a straight line or an arc, and the CNC machine tool has the function of arc interpolation, which can process various parts with complex contours.
